Cost of a Destination Wedding

Marry Me? The cost of a destination wedding isn’t just borne by the bridal couple so determining what is affordable for you and your guests is important. Here are the average costs for travel.

Average per person all inclusive resort cost -
3 nights – $583.00
5 nights – $899.00
7 nights – $1370.00

Average wedding package cost – $4200.00

Average number of guests – 35

These costs are averages for all inclusive resorts in various locations in Mexico, Jamaica, Aruba, Barbados, St. Thomas and the Dominican Republic and include taxes and transfers. The average costs do not include airfare.

Cost of airfare

The cost of airfare varies for many reasons and finding low cost airfare is always important. We strongly recommend non-stop airfare when feasible. Connecting airfare may be cheaper but you run the risk of delays, lost luggage and additional stress.

TIP – To keep your costs down, look for destinations that have non-stop service from your departure airport. Consider where your guests are flying from, small regional airports may be more expensive and have limited service to where you are having your wedding.

Q. Can A Ticket To Paradise help us with purchasing airfare?
A. Yes, of course! We can book all airlines from any city and charter air from selected cities. We can also bundle airfare and resort for one price.

Here are some good resources to research airfare:

All Inclusive Resort costs

We recommend all-inclusive resorts to keep cost down and there are many high quality resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean to choose from.

TIP – the first two weeks in November and December tend to be less expensive.

Q. Where is the best destination wedding resort?
A. This depends on you! We listen to your wedding vision and recommend resorts that we feel will be a good fit. Does this mean we only work with ultra expensive resorts? No, we only work with ones that can consistently deliver high quality weddings.

Destination Wedding package costs

Wedding package costs vary from resort to resort. Most will have between three and five packages to choose from and an amenities list for you to customize your wedding.

TIP – Private dinners and cocktail parties are additional costs even at an all-inclusive resort. Depending on the size of your group most resorts will set aside space in one of their restaurants for no addition cost.

Q. What is included in a wedding package?
A. Packages vary but for the most part what is included is a decorated wedding site, personal wedding coordinator, Officiant, bride bouquet, groom boutonnière, champagne toast, a small wedding cake and limited photography. You will take on additional costs by adding a cocktail party, wedding dinner, ceremony video, additional flowers, decorations and live music.
